Allow unregistered users to use the quick-reply box.

OK Bird. I'll keep looking for that particular mod or if you'd like to try and make the mod I'm referring to I think it would pay off for us all. I'll pay for someone to do it but at that point I wouldn't feel justified in sharing it for free (unless we all chip in which won't happen).


Anyway, consider my situation finding Dani Web, I forgot the exact conversation, but under normal circumstances I would never reply because I myself didn't want to go through the registration process to make a few word reply but this time I did want to reply and was enticed to more so than any other forum because of this mod; the page appeared to give me that ability to post without registering.

So, the best part of it all is, you take the time to write out your response, hit reply, then you are taken to a registration page that alerts you "your comment will appear after you register" or something and more times than not, the user will probably join the forum. Think about all the people that probably didn't join or add content to our forums because of their unwillingness to register despite their willingness to reply.

It's win/win for everyone: The people get their say, we get a new member, and new content.

And the way DaniWeb handles it is as if you can do just that, but wait one second, what's your name, email real quick, bingo, you have a new user, you have new content, not just someone that came in and saw your info and did nothing on your site (this is like 99% of my visitors, they just dont speak).

So I think even more so than letting guests reply, this proposed mod would be really great. But I won't steal your thunder on this mod but they are VERY similar so pardon my confusion.
