CKEditor StyleVars

[ZERO <ibis>]

I updated to 4.1.4 not realizing that the editor was changed. Now I can not figure out any way to edit its style. The default colors clash with my forums style and thus the inability to fix this is a disaster.

Please let me know what I need to do in order to edit the colors for it.

That only allows me to change some things. No options to control highlighting color over buttons, the color of the sides of the editor nor the new java popup boxes. To make matters worse I can not even test the effects of the changes without restarting my computer and or waiting a few hours.

find the ckeditor.css/editor.css template and hardcode the changes.

the easiest way is to add the following to your additional.css template

/* Background Color for CKEditor */ 
.cke_skin_kama .cke_wrapper {     
background-color:#666666!important; }
/* Background Color for CKEditor - END */

changing the hex code # above to whatever color you want
though with all you want to change it might be best for you to go to your server side cPanel>File Manager and edit the following file: root>clientscrip>ckeditor>skins>kama>mainui.css
and for the toolbar/tool icons same place but the toolbar.css

...and have everything overwritten with the next upgrade. At least be aware that you need to keep a copy somewhere.

I've been having to re-edit css files with every upgrade since this sucker went Gold =S

There have been not upgrades since first CKE integration in vB (4.1.4), so I'm not sure what you mean. If you're talking about CKE itself, it's perfectly possible to just create your own style and use that, but that's for CKE support.
