Invalid Permission?
Hi,
I recently updated my version of vBulletin from 3.8.2 to 4.1.3, all in one shot. The install went fine, without any errors. But, I'm now noticing some odd issues as far as permission to view standard pages. 1) I'm the forum admin, and yet I can't view the showgroups page, I get the standard "you do not have permission to access this page..." error. I'm not sure why, I don't even see where you'd set custom permissions on this? 2) After doing the forum installation, I installed the "microCart" system, and the same "do not have permission" error displays with I try to view my own cart page. I know this issue is due to a problem external from the core of vBulletin, however, I'm thinking the issues are related. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

1) Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php PHP Code:

It's also just been brought to my attention that users in a certain usergroup can't view my shoutbox either. The shoutbox I have installed doesn't even allow you to test permission for you can and cannot view it, so something's definitely messed up in the core of the permissions system. From what I can tell, "$vbulletin->userinfo['permissions']" isn't being propagated with the correct information, which is why all of the permission checks are failing. I'm thinking my best bet, to hopefully resolve all of these conflicts, will be just to back up my forum database, and reinstall the entire thing. It seems to be it was an upgrade failure from vb3.8.2 to vb4.1.3. Thanks for your time. |
