My search box looks like that (well has those options) by default in vBulletin 3.8. What does yours look like?

when clicked it goes to advanced search. |

Do you have any dropdowns on your site at all? check AdminCP > Settings > Options > style & language settings > Use 'vBMenu' DHTML Popup Menus? Is that set to Yes?

Also if you have JavaScript disabled you won't see the pop-up menu.

other dropdowns on the site work just fine, like inside of threads when i click 'thread tools' and things like that.

Could be a problem with your style then.
In Admin CP go to Style Manager and Add a New Style with no parent style. See if it works in that, if so compare your navbar templates between the two styles to see what is different/missing. |
