The bug potentially affects every user of the Internet Explorer web browser - around 900 million people worldwide.....

....Microsoft admitted that the problem meant users could easily be fooled into downloading malicious files by doing something as simple as clicking on a web link.

"When the user clicked that link, the malicious script would run on the user's computer for the rest of the current Internet Explorer session," wrote Microsoft representative Angela Gunn in a website announcement accompanying the advisory....
Yet another reason why IE is microsoft's biggest EPIC FAIL!
Thanks for posting the info though - will check out the fix...

That’s why i stopped using Internet Explorer and switched to a better one, firefox at that. How could they say that it would be a long term fix, we all know that everything is vulnerable to attacks at all times. It’s just a matter of when they will get pass the security or when someone will try going pass it. As long as it’s published in the internet, it will be open to attacks and we just have to deal with that.

Have you heard about the flaw in the Sandy CPUs from Intel? Looks like they will lose about 700M from that deal. It's amazing the kind of flaws that make it past testing.

It is not the CPUs that is giving fault but the Sandy Bridge chipsets they are using on the motherboards.

I have two perfect resolves to all your Internet Explorer issues.

Option 1)

Google Chrome = www.google.com/chrome

Mozilla Firefox = www.mozilla.com

Opera Browser = www.opera.com

Apply one and then un-install Internet Explorer if possible (it is in Windows 7)

Options 2)

Backup all your important data

Debian = www.debian.org

Ubutnu = www.ubuntu.com

SuSe = www.opensuse.org

Apply one and enjoy

What is "the privacy law" ? What country has this law? What does it say? How is Chrome in violation of it?

Your links provide no useful information. Just lists saying old versions of Chrome had security vulnerabilities but we all know all old browsers have vulnerabilities and new ones are found all the time.

Belgium and i'm sure other countrys have such laws to.Google Chrome keeps lists of your surfing behavior (and i don't mean the surfing history) it's nobody business except my own what websites i visit allthrough i have nothing to hide for example those lists could be used for "targetted advertising" i'm not saying Google is doing that i only mention it's possible since people have a right to know the truth
