Facebook Applications

Hello,
To enable Facebook connect with my Forum I went to:

Admin Control Panel -> Settings -> Options -> Facebook Options

it asks for 2 entries:

Facebook Application:Enter the Application ID for your Application (see the Facebook Developer page for more information).

Facebook Secret:Enter the Facebook Secret for your Application (see the Facebook Developer page for more information).

Questions:

1. What Application should I enter to let users use Facebbok to interact with their accounts?

2. What is Facebook Secret?

Both links take me to Facebook site that asks me to login which i can't and don't want to register with Facebook anyway.

3. Has anyone found this feature well adopted? I am finding that on other boards users are asking for it to be available and just because ofthat looked into it for my (future) Forum.


While trying to fake register with Facebook (just for testing), found it so complicated and kind of assumes I am willing to participate in that. Fair enough.
In the process, I realized that using or linking Facebook account with Forum account would bring a heap of information that are usually not available nor linked with Forum membership.
Do users really want that or are they aware?

4. Would it be possible to disable that option on individual user basis later on and purge infor that was unintentionally conveyed over to the Forum?

As for disabling the options for some well yes, users must "Allow" the application to access their facebook account just like other applications on facebook etc.

Should be pretty straight forward and simple .
