Hello,
Our board has different styles for years and that went fine. Now we are using vbulletin 4 and we've yet to upgrade once without messing all our styles up. The blue style gets some colors from the red one, the black from the green and so on. Adding a new style also creates trouble: not only is there a new style, but many already existing styles also copy something. Fixing the styles in vb 4.0 is a lot of work every time again. What's going wrong? |

The last upgrade seemed to be better. But not in the first attempt. However, managing styles remain difficult and now it seems it even doesn't update manual edits in all parts.
![]() I try for example to get the colors of the WGO box changed in VB 4.1. I go to ACP/Style Manager/Style Vars and I go to the section Forum. I scroll down and get the WGO settings. I set What's Going On Background to a color, remove the Background image and save. Nothing happens. None of the other WGO settings appear to do anything. There's no cache and it is a vanilla install. Any help please? |

well the real style var is :
wgoheader_background , this is the color it will be displaying , the image is located in the stylevar: wgo_background that is a PNG if im not mistaken , just adds that bevel illusion .. in your stylevar box just put in : wgo , and all the CSS variables for that box will show up. Regards |

Thanks Xtrato,
The odd thing is that the changes are saved, but not visible at all? I also had that odd behavior of styles losing their settings because of an upgrade. That happened to various versions of 4.x and on both the production and several clean testboards. I never had any of these issues during the whole of the 3 series. |

you can overwrite them on a separate style sheet , just call them from a sepearte and put the !important variable, if you need help on this let me know.

Hello KevinL,
Is there a recent and accurate guide for this? I'll try those vars. I've no idea how to do that Xtrato. It was pretty easy to have different styles, but now it got confusing and changes. Edit: found the new stylevars and it's having effect there. Thank you KevinL. |

You are welcome
![]() The only good guide that I know of is https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=256370 But it doesn't include the stylevars. But it does explain a lot where you may find things. I don't think any guide has really been updated to 4.1 ![]() |
