Alright, I've been trying to do something and I just am not capable.

I would like to add an image to the editor and then have it out put what I want. For example, it'd be just like adding an emoticon besides the B "Bold" editor option. Upon clicking that emoticon, it would output an image or the variable which calls to it; depending on your editor selection.

Basically, I want an icon the size of the editor icons, that when you click it, an image is output into your editor field. I will have a total of four of them as they are used frequent in the headings of our threads.

If there are any questions, please ask.

PS: A custom BB Code will not work as it outputs so users may think they need to add text or links within the tags. Which isn't what I want...

You're definitely looking at some custom coding here. I've never seen anything remotely like that and imagine it require some special coding.
