I believe introductions are in order... II (The Empire's Quest for Peace ...Legacy)
Yes, I'm an idiot.
TheLastSuperman suggested the new Advisors introduce themselves, as not everyone likely knows all of us real well, so I'm following his lead here. Uh, is it bad that I already had one of these made? Hi, I'm Mark Daniel Martinez, AKA Digital Jedi. I'm not a coder. But I play one on TV. No, seriously, I'm not professionally trained at all. I learned most of what I know from admining my own vBulletin forum. It was not something I sought, actually, but something thrust upon me when the owners of my favorite forum decided that they were no longer going to keep the site open. They gave the license and domain to me, and once I got all the dough together, I remade www.cogonline.net into my own image. Dark and foreboding. Since then, I've been forced to learn things about coding so I could make some simple modifications and do some customizing to my own forum. As a result, I'm currently training myself in the fine art of PHP, JavaScript, Shang Chi and Macram?. I'm a husband and stay-at-home dad to one bouncing baby girl. She's six and half as of this post. Mahogany has cerebral palsy, so we decided that one of us should keep her at home while the other works. The way things work in my area, I'd just be working to pay for the daycare anyway, so why bother? She has a disablity, but she's also a Martinez, which means disablity or no disablilty, she's still going to find a way to be a punk. That's my girl. I try to get as much stuff done as I can, but I'm still mastering this thing called organization. My lovely wife works with me on getting things done and making our quality of life better overall. Let's just say that such a thing is perpetually a work in progress. That said, I wouldn't have my family any other way. You'll find a whole bunch of my half-finished projects all over the web. But, I am training new assistant: We're moving, soon, to a city with more services for our daughter and closer to her doctors that she sees all the time anyway. Also, we've made some friends there whom I just can't seem to alienate, no matter how hard I try. We don't do well financially. But we manage to make life enjoyable and keep up with the things technologically. We just make sacrifices when necessary. We recently finished a run on P90X which took us from this: ...to this... Er, yes. I'm thinner here. You're just going to have to trust me. :erm: Aside from coding, I'm also an artist. I do a really slothily produced comic called "Pwnd!": In my more serious non-comedic drawings I've started emulating Bruce Timm's style, but I'm currently trying to get away from so obviously aping it. I've been working on a comic book for years that I've never been able to complete. But I've always had it right there on the horizon. And I really would like to save up enough dough one day to work them into online comics run off vBulletin as a base. I'm also somewhat of digital colorist. Did one gig on a comic called Haley Book #2. But I still feel I need to work on that. Also, as you may have noticed, my wife is really hot: Sooooooo, I'm just gonna leave it there before she sees what I'm doing. Good night. And rot's a ruck. |

Love the intro! Your intro to coding is basically the same as my story of being on a site where the owner stopped wanting to run the site so I had to start my own to continue it. Then had to learn to code because I wanted to tweak this and then that and then.... hehe, the tweaking never stops (part of the reason I haven't upgraded our site!).
I love your drawings! You've got quite some talent. You have a a beautiful family, Mark. Thanks for the intro! |

Thanks to you both.
Yeah, I figure it's a matter of quantity over quality. If I make enough jokes, one of them is bound to be funny. |

You guys are silly. And, with that smilie on my face, I am now off to read in my snuggly bed. Night all.
