Show posts on non-vb page (Whole post plus bbcode, not just thread titles)

Seems like this would be a basic mod but I can't find it anywhere. I already know how to use external.php and JavaScript to display thread TITLES on a non-vb page but how do I snatch entire posts (the content of the post) and have it properly formatted with bbcode/html? Being able to display the users avatars would be nice as well.

Is there anyway to do this without a CMS script or is there a mod for 3.8 that exists that can do this?

If you want to put the post content on an external page, then you need to use a query as the content isn't available via javascript. You can get the code from the showthread.php page.

No mod for this exists already? Seems rather basic to put your posts on a homepage without using some bulky CMS.

I think there is an article about it. And most people just want the thread title and author and date, not the post text, so they can just use javascript to do it and not have to write a query.
