Iframes are considered bad practice nowadays, for several reasons:

1. bad for ranking in search engines
2. difficult to bookmark and navigate
3. not included in the latest XHTML 1.0 strict doc type - thus, probably going to be less and less supported

Thanks for the info. It's a banner. Nothing to rank or get included into search engines.
