Modify search database query to include "location" user field

Couldn't the user field be joined to the tables already in the search? If not and there was a second box added next to the current search box like:

"and location is in"

How would such a "combined" query be formed?

I figured out how to search location on the member.php form but to add it to this is a little over my head so far.

It would be ok for users to do texas or tx. They will have to know to try both ways as with all the countries and provinces we use I can't standardize the location fields.

has anyone done this yet and if not could somebody devise the query or code to add this?
