Odd Index Error, Could use a hand

Ok about 10am today my forums index just up and blanked out to a white screen without any code changes at all. Rather then an error or even a timeout I get the download notice that my computer downloaded the index.php page to my computer. That's about 4 or 5 minutes after trying to get to the forum/index.php.

Now the odd part, all pages under the index, for example a sub forum or thread, those all work just fine. They load quickly without problems. All add on scripts like my Photopost all work exactly as they should. My CMPS homepage works just fine. = http://www.scalemotorcars.com

Here's what Ive tried unsuccessfully.

I thought It might be a code error on the index so I created a new style without a parent. When I try to load the new style I get the same white page and it doesn't actually change to the new default style. It just stays with my customs skin and I still get the blank page. I have not added any new products in weeks so I didn't think that was it but I disabled all and still no change. I changed the index permissions to 755 and even 777 to see is that made a difference but nothing. I removed all CMPS modules off the forum index with no change. I called my host but they have no error and no ideal what may have changed.

At this point Im out of idea's I know you guys get allot of "My sites broke" from newbies but Ive been at this for some time and this is a first for me.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....

Very interesting. I am having almost the same exact issue as you. If you find a resolve please post back here.

I just restored my database from last night and it did not fix the problem, so I am pretty sure its not db related.

I tried the default code for forumhome, forumdisplay, the index.php and still no fix.

Anyone have an ideal why without a change it would just go blank on the index only.

Also noticing a long delay on subforums but they are working eventually.

I don't know why that would happen and I'm not an expert on hosting stuff, but assuming you're desperate...I might try copying index.php to another name and see if that works, and maybe replace index.php with something simple just to make sure it's something to do with the code executing and not the server or something else. And if it does seem to be the code, assuming you have a current copy, you could upload all of the code again. (of course, all of this could turn out to be a waste of time )

Already called the host and they didnt have an answer as to why. No changes to the server so its gotta be the DB or the code. Why it would change all of a sudden is kind of weird but Ill give it a try.

Ok so Ive repaired and optimized the tables several times and all looks fine. No errors.

Ive restored all default php code and still no change.

Disabled all plugins and no change.


Its only the forums index that is blank and I made no changes to the system It just all of a sudden stopped working.

This is the only error I get and its on Google Chrome. "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error."

Anyone out there that can help me with this.

Ok I found it. Some kind of weird error with the Photopost Featured block. Its been working for years and all of a sudden it goes belly up.

Oh well Ill figure out why later. Thanks to those that replied. :up:
