Makes no difference. If you told the lie knowing it was a lie when you told it, no matter what you found out later, you still originally knew you were lying at the time. Original intent trumps anything else.

I didn't really tell a lie and find out it wasn't a lie, I was lying about that.
From my Zen training, I learn that: If you keep on saying it the way it is, your word actually becomes law in the universe. Of course I was not into Zen all my life.
Did anyone see 'The Invention of Lying" - basically an entire movie based on no one ever lying... a little too anti-religion for me not that I'm religious but still... decent movie over all.
