Running version 4.0.4 PL1.
Noticed spambot registrations going through the roff since I updated from 4.0.3 to latest release. I've only just switched FB Connect on as it doesn't seem to cause page load problems with the lastest release. My only saying grace is that these bots aren't confirming their email addresses so none are getting onto the board but I've literally got 50 awaiting email confirmation at the moment. Setting as follows. Allow new user registrations YES COPPA Regitration Stsyem DISABLED COPPA cookie check NO Moderate new members OFF Send welcome email YES Allow multiple registrations NO Verify email address in registration YES Require unique Email Address YES I also have human verifacation manager on and I'm using a question and answer system with 2 questions both along the lines of this. Look at the following sentence and spell a 4 letter word. Finnleys Uncle Created Kitchens the answers are obvious lol When it first started to happen I changed the Question and Answers just incase someone has come along and manually registered and then provided the information for the bots but this has no effect on the volume still registering even now. I'm starting to think that FB Connect is somehow being exploited and was wondering if A) Someone could help and B) Anyone is getting the same problem? |

i had this happen as well , what i did was block the ip addresses and there email starting with the @------.com or what ever it is , you can do this in your admin cp under settings >options >user banning options , there might be a better way but it worked for me
