I would like to modify our New Thread and New Reply templates so as not to display the Insert Image icon or link to the underlying command. Our purpose in doing this is to force members to use the attachment feature instead of linking to offsite images.

I've looked in the templates and in the scripts and I'm not familiar enough with PHP to know what name to look for. Can someone point me to the right code to comment out and its location? I am running version 3.8.4 Patch Level 2.

I don't know for sure but my guess is you need to edit the functions_editor.php file in your includes directory... the code in question seems to be in line numbers 740-749... off hand I don't know what parts to specifically remove (or comment out) but my spidey sense tells me that's the place to start... I would just use trial and error with the original file backed up and see what you get. Probably the kind of thing you'll want to do on a test board, or with the forums closed (and backed up) at the very least. Of course they will still be able to type the [ img ] code unless you install a mod to disable [ img ] altogether.
