just like people who vote in real life, they know nothing about what they are voting for, they just vote for what other people who have an oppiion believe

and mods in closed threads probably shouldn't be nominated
I'll occasionally vote for mods I don't install either...
Coders & Designers appreciate good code and product design. You don't need to have first hand experience of the mod for that.
If it's a good concept, well featured and well executed, but i have no use for it on my forum, why should that mean I cannot vote for it? It still fulfills all of the relevant critera to be the best modification that month, and I'm more than capable of judging that without installing it =)
What you are suggesting is people vote for "Mod that is most useful for my personal board this month" not "Best mod created this month".
This is supposed to be about the latter, not the former
