Extract Template from Backup
Are there any apps out there that allow templates to be extracted from backups without restoring all the other data?
I recently installed a product and the installation was not a success for one reason or another. One of the main templates, forumhome, was modified and it was impossible to roll back. The only method I could come up with was to do a full restore to a test forum and copy the template content from there. There must be an easier way of doing things. Any ideas anybody. Z. |

Depending on the size of the backup, you could just open it in a text editor and get it. Otherwise, just import the database to a new database and use phpMyAdmin, or whatever you want, to go grab the template. You don't need to actually install vB also if you understand the table structure.

Thanks for the reply Lynne.
I tried that but the template was Forumhome and it was pretty big and terribly messy. |
