I visited your site. I'm in the USA Buffalo, NY to be exact. I do not think you have a DNS problem per se. I think that you have too much going on. The site is slow and takes a long while to load. This usually indicates that you either have way too many things taking up bandwidth and slowing down the site such as images & with vBulletin queries can also kill your bandwidth as well. Queries are run when vBulletin tried to execute extras added to forums, or other things that it need to execute. Some things that you can try to get your forum to speed up are:
1. If you are running this site off your home PC or a PC that is close like a friends etc then I suggest that you invest in buying real hosting from a host that you would find online. Most host are pretty fast and allow for many things. There are some really cheap hosts out there that could work out great for you just google web hosts. 2. Cut down on the amount of large images, the amount of images period. You may also want to place some code in your htaccess file to disable hotlinking to your image files just in case. 3. Cut down on the amount of hacks you are running. I'd imagine that you are running quite a few hacks or it maybe possible you are running quite a few hacks on your site. The more hacks you have the more queries it runs on your board, the slower your board will be. Sometimes there is no need for a hack that is even presented here on this site because the things that the hack does you can actually do with vBulletin "out of the box". So go through your hacks and uninstall any that you are not using, or ones your users are not interested in. Clean them out to just the ones that you like the most and the ones that your users like the most. 4. Check your settings in your vBulletin options panel. There are many options that give you warnings about server load. Go back and recheck those and take off the ones you can do without. If you cut back on those it will speed your forum up. 5. As far as possibly having countries that are not getting on the forums, you may want to check your IP bans to make sure that you have not accidentally banned ip addresses of those countries. 6. Another thing I have noticed is your forum keep on refreshing every few seconds this is most likely causing your server some major stress I suggest that you see why its reloading so often. If its the animated favicon, then you may want to have a still non-animated icon in its place. Having an animated favicon is nice but if it slows down the forum and causes issues then your members will not want to post or stick around. Not sure these are the exact cause of your issues but its a good place to start. |
