Creating a Sidebar Block from a product?
Yes, I am aware that I can create a sidebar block by going to the Forum Blocks Manager of my admin cp. But this doesn't seem to be the RIGHT way to do it for custom mods. Why would tell people to create a block, cut and paste this, set that, etc... The rest of a custom mod is simple enough as just uploading files and adding a product xml, and these blocks shouldn't be any different.
So I guess my question would be... how would I AUTOMATICALLY create a sidebar block for anyone who installs my product? |

So... no one knows?

Take a look at Paul M's modifications for blocks. He wrote an installer for it. Just ask him if he minds if you use his code.

Paul M's class for installing sidebar blocks should be built into VB from the start...
