Is it possible to edit templates as files?

Being relatively new to VB and VB4 specifically I would like to ask for your guidance, regarding the customization of templates and styles of VB4.

Is it possible to have all templates in external files and be able to edit them manually, instead of coding inside the command panel? I am not used to that kind of programming and in annoys me. Maybe there is a trick, like avatars and instead of storing in them in the database you can have them as normal files.

Any link, tutorial, or reference would be much appreciated.

It can only be done by admin panel. What i do is copy the content and edit it with notepad++
next copy and past it back to the admin panel

I mean if you can save them and keep them in a folder so you can test them faster (Save - Refresh) instead of using the whole thing which not very comfortable.

I understand what you mean. I was used to that when I was using Smf but I like this way in the acp better. It is faster and handier, it saves a lot of time then doing it manually with the files in the folder and ftp etc etc. It needs a little bit of getting used to the new system.

OK, I guess I will have to do all the work in a php file and the use the template just for printing
