No, you shouldn't lose any posts. Of course, I'm assuming you do regular db backups, and will do a db and full site backup before upgrading.

Note that most 3.x mods won't work in vb4, so it's best to uninstall them all before the upgrade. Many of them will have new vb4 equivalents, which you'll want to line up and have ready to go once you test things.
