I have a very large forum, the database is 5gigs+ and we have over 2 million posts. I am currently using vB version 3.6.
I have been trying to mirror my forum on a test server so that I can upgrade it to version 3.8 before doing the same on my "live" site however I have been unable to restore the database. I have tried on three different servers and on each server I get the exact same problem. I perform the restore process using SSH like I have always done but each time the restore process gets to the "postindex" table and stops. The postindex table on the live server is 1.8gigabyte but on the test servers it only imports 161.2 MiB before stopping. Why is this happening? Is my database corrupt? --------------- Added [DATE]1269969241[/DATE] at [TIME]1269969241[/TIME] --------------- Second question... does anyone know how to run a "repair" on an .sql file? I know how to repair a database that is already loaded into mysql but what about the individual backup file sitting on your server? |
