This cracking little product, is a refinement of a previous mod of ours. Updated to work on all versions of vb4.0.0.x

This Mod: adds an info icon below a members post.
It grabs the IP of the poster ( their post.ip )
By clicking it a new window opens up and displays the users Geo Location.

This is our MOST popular Modification for our admins, and allows them to track trace and locate users at ANY time.

To Install:

Upload the Image folder to your forum root. Allow merge.

Goto AdminCP>Plugins and Products>Add/Import Product

Navigate to: product-australiabound_iplookup.xml
Import

Done !

Nothing more to do.

When a moderator/admin staff clicks on the icon. A new window opens with google map, and the users ip location is displayed.

NO TEMPLATE EDITS !

"There is nothing worse is there:

1. a new member posts
2. you hover over the IP button in their post
3. you then have to go into admincp , users, enter their username, grab the ip address
4. then open a whois ip lookup
5. paste the ip in
6. check them out

This REMOVES all that crap. Just click the Ip Icon

Fantastic idea! A question - is there any possibility of extending this IP lookup functionality to the Who's Online dialog as well? I find I use this a LOT more, particularly for Guest readers and other strange visitors.

If you know the hook for the IP in this area, which would not be POST ID, perhaps SIGNUP ID or similar , then yes I can extend it.

These are the hooks called for the Who's Online screen. Is anyone familiar with these and whether they relate to user IP in the Who's Online function? Perhaps fetch_userinfo?

Hi,

Just installed but it isn't showing the little icon instead shows the text "look up this ip" like this

I uploaded the folder with the image, i guess it is at the wrong spot. Kindly help the noob
