Can you double check the code?

This is mine:

<img src="{imagesfolder}/$forum[onoff].gif" border="0" alt="">

not this:

<img src="images/$forum[onoff].gif" border="0" alt="">

Even so, I made the changes with adding the {imagesfolder} to your replacement code and I get errors.
