From what I am able to tell that does make it so that only their first post has the option automatically checked and includes the custom signature file, but would it be possible to add an option to the user control panel to set the default state? Some users are used to unchecking the box and if I were to implement this hack that you linked me to, they would then habitually re-check the box, instead of unchecking it, and thus include their signature in each and every post.
Dont get me wrong, I appreciate the already existing hack, I just want to try and make it work optimally for as many users as possible.
