several questions -quick reply option and more

I am not seeing Quick Reply on my forum at all . . . is there a switch I need to flip?
I did a search, of course, but only see threads about people's issues w/ their Quick Reply . . . I don't even have Quick Reply! LOL!

Also, there's a few things I CANNOT find in stylevars and it's making me batty, I'm having some issues w/ white text on white backgrounds and I have spent hours in stylevars changing one variable at a time and refreshing, then reverting and trying the next . . . nothing

I tried:

Go into stylevars > and change "textedit_background"

&

.postbit-lite .posttext {
color:#coloruwant;
}

and neither worked
to be clear, it's NOT the active text box in profile messages, it the appearance in ALREADY SENT messages.


Finally, I set the Mod Room as private. . . but anyone can still see it, they just can't post.

vboptions > message posting > quick reply > yes, click either required or not

Take a look at this article to help with stylevars - HOW TO Find what Stylevar you need to edit


Edit permissions for usergroups in forums in Forums > Forum mNager > find the forum > Deny All > then set permissions for groups you want to see it.

2} I have, it's not there I've also tried firebug. . . I've worked on this everyday all day for 3 days and have not found one variable to change that text to black or to darken that background

Sometimes it isn't a stylevar, sometimes you actually have to add your own css. Add in some color to this class:

.memberaction_body.popupbody li > a {
color:blue;


}

And this should work also for the text of the visitor messages (I didn't look up the date class):

.postbit-lite .posttext {
color:blue;
}

Where exactly are you adding it? I'm adding it to additional.css on my test site and it definitely works.

I'll try adding it, I was looking for it to be already existing. . . doesn't seem logical that it would just default to white/white. LOL!

It doesn't default to white/white. It is fine on the default style. You changed a stylevar somewhere that is effecting that class. You could probably trace it down using firebug.
