DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.



Instructions & Support

Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.

Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!

You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).

Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.

Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).

That would be inconsistent with album comments, visitor messages etc? I'm waiting for vB 4.1, 4.2, ... 5.x or something, which should introduce a consistent method for handling comments. Now some are stored in a separate table and some as forum posts.

Revamping the file system to use the asset manager, adding multiple files and mirrors is high on my todo list.

Just add images to files and they will be thumbnailed automatically? Like on the second and third screenshot.

@RS_Jelle: Ok, another template hook in 'add' end 'edit' form, name example 'dl2_file_edit_form_start' or 'dl2_file_form_start' and view in 2 forms..
Add 'dl2_form_end'.
In file template add 'dl2_file_start' and 'dl2_file_end' and 'dl2_file_after_images'.
For comments: 'dl2_comment_before' and 'dl2_comment_after'.

This is only examples to insert a start good point for template hooks. For a moment haven't other ideas ^^

I want to install this but I have a problem with my server that's why I can not update my usergroups permissions, so after installing this I can not update download permissions, is there any way to set default settings for different usergroups when we install it?

Strange, it should be there when you upgrade from v5. The old version is using it.

You need to use vB's stylevar system for that.

That's a general vB problem, not a DownloadsII problem. Ask over at vB.com or contact your hosting provider if it's a server problem.

Yes, I want to have acces to the category admin. So my mods can add new category in downloads.

I'm not planning such a feature at the moment. You need to give them AdminCP access for this. vB itself isn't allowing this too for forums etc.

Yes, I know that, but sadly they do not provide any solution yet, vb.com said that you contact your host provider and host provider doesn't disable a problematic php plugin, so I can not use this hack, because its require usergroup permissions to be edited after installation, I just wanna know that is there any way to edit usergroup permission anywhere? set by default or edit in phpmyadmin?

You can edit downloads2permissions, downloads2extrapermissions and other fields in the usergroup table
Just count up the numbers from the /includes/xml/bitfield_downloads2.xml permissions you want to set to yes.
