i always clean like this before saveing in database
string format, user input galcod

$galcod = $vbulletin->input->clean_GPC('g', 'galcod', TYPE_STR);
$galcod =& $db->escape_string($vbulletin->GPC['galcod']);

so it "should" be safe next time read from db ?
