Lock thread - A huge vbulletin software FAIL!
well, let me just say where i'm coming from. I have premium membership on my forum and I give these members some extra privilege on the forum. One of the perks of becoming premium member is the ability to close and open their Own created thread. Sound pretty cool right? not for long.
Now, if ANY of these premium members make a lets say "inappropriate thread" and me (admin) or one of the mods close it, they can simply open it back up by going into thread tools!!! What the heck was VB thinking? I think there should be a way when a thread is locked by an admin, no user can open it back up despite it's created by the same member. Anyone feel the same way as me? is there any mod to this problem? thank you in advance. |

I believe there is a mod, yes. Try a search for "admin*" or "close*" in "all mods" "titles only" and you should find it.

Hey Lynne,
I just spent last 25 minute searching with those keywords (also search is VERY broad too because of common keywords). but NO luck. Most lock threads talk about "close thread after x posts" or "close thread after x days" but I couldn't find what I was looking for. Do you happen to remember who was the coder? or around what year the code was released? |

I have never installed something like this, but a quick search shows me this which may do what you want:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ghlight=admin* I really can't remember who wrote the one I'm thinking of or when I saw it. I just remember this topic coming up before and someone creating a mod or posting a link to a mod to fix the problem. |

Thanks Lynne. I'll look into that mod.
