I'm trying to figure out the code to hide the following (in red box) from certain sub-forums:

Why not set it in the settings this can be done if you go into the forum manager and change the settings to not show.

Thanks for that - i do want people to be able to see it - but i want to hide it for certian sub-forums. my layout is like this:
Forum #1 <- Threadlist / controls Hidden in this forum only. But forum visible to all -> SubForum #1 <- Threadlist / controls visible as normal -> SubForum #2 <- Threadlist / controls visible as normal -> SubForum #3 <- Threadlist / controls visible as normal |

Then the ones you want to edit the permissions and the setting I showed earlier. Just hide what you want and it'll work.
