user online?

Hey, what about this for a hack? Since thread pages on vB are dynamic, right, so why dont we have a feature where a small "user is viewing forums" icon is shown whenever taht eprson is online. Something like the ICQ thing.

I like that idea! I don't think it would be that hard to program either, would it? Do you mean like have an icon below their username if they are online?

I think it would be kinda useless, as you can see this on the main page. Would bog down the mysql querys too.

I highly doubt that, but I think that it should be put into its own template so that people could include it if they wanted.

Actually, it wouldn't slow down a query at all - since you wouldn't actually need an extra query, except for the template. - It already has to serve up each user's profile, so just grab the lastactivity variable, and do a little time manipulation

Yeah - thanks everyone. I think this would be a valuable add on in the next version. However, I think John and james should focus on customer service before preparing the next upgrade for us.
