Default Ranks & Titles

I set up the ranking system last night, and the groups.

Today I've got some members with 2 titles under their names, and some are old titles that were deleted when I replaced them with new ones.

How can I get rid of the second unwanted title under the username, and what did I do wrong?

Thanks

Go to your User Ranks > User Rank Manager

Edit all ranks and select NO on Stack Rank

Then go to Maintenance > Update Counters

Hit Update Titles and Ranks

That should take care of your problem

Thank you so much

Do I have to use User Titles, can I just have ranks and usergroups?

I'm new to vBulletin and used to using ranks in other forums as member titles.

Would it be best to not have ranks but to have user titles instead?

I'm a bit confused why there's both ranks and user titles lol

you can use only ranks if you want, goto User Titles, User Title Manager and delete whats already there, then "update user titles and ranks".
if that dont work remove user titles code from your postbit template.

Hi thanks for your help

What I've done is used User Titles now and deleted all the ranks. I see now how titles work, for users and usergroups, as I have several groups on my board.

Still not quite sure why there is ranks tho, what purpose are they for?

My boards an over 50 community, youngest being 50 oldest is 93. They're amazing. lol

Make you some Rank images you'd like such as these but whatever you want them to look like:

Load them to your server to your images/ranks folder and set up usergroup ranks and direct to the images:

You can blank out the text in Usergroup manager or make something stupid like I did... a box with boarder, background colour, and Retired marquee text:

**image removed**

If you choose you can even make it show stacked ranks by selecting Stack Ranks and when you give someone a secondary it will show both. For instance if you wanted to have your regular members Rank so as Member and a secondary such as Guy or Doll... that would show under...

The choices are what you make it.
