- FORCE an unregistered user to INPUT a username - And input an e-mail? so he can be notified when his post got approved? |

Why would you want guests posting on the forums?

Yeah just edit permissions for unregistered users so they cannot post, that way they can view as a guest, and then register if they want to post.

To give them a taste of the forum first....let the post few times they'll get (50%) hooked and register.... I only give them about 20 posts without registration.
That's why i want them to be able to - INPUT an e-mail when their post gets approved they'll come back and view response for example similar to how blogs do sometimes. ( i don't want that subscription, i just want it to say that "this post was approved) - And force a username/nick name i don't want "unregistered" to show... It's my way to increase participation then one day guest have to register and after i'll close registration and reopen one time for few days etc etc. |

No, that's bad, if that's the case, the forum would end up drowning in tons of spam in about 3 days.

Like i said each post are put into moderation, needed either me or the other staff to approve. we would delete as they come anyways.
I've been doing it for 2 months now and so far not more spam then those who register with a valid account (e-mail and confirmed). Anyone knows how to do that yet? |
