I've seen on other forums they have a different forum new/old icon for some forums how can I go about doing this?

I did a few searches, but didn't come up with anything.

Help would be appreciated.

Forum Manager > selet Forum to Edit > Prefix for Forum Status Images

I uploaded the images to my server and in that box set the path where I put the files at and they're not showing up. Plus it seems like I can only do this to 1 skin and not multiple where I remember last time I installed a hack for this type of job I remember it showing up on every skin.

Whatever happened to the plugin that was used to cure this job?

Your path is probably wrong. Check the page source and see what it says. And this will make it show up in all the skins as long as they have the correct code in the forumhome_* template (can't remember what it's called right now).
