Banned users showing on "who's online" list
How can i get rid of banned users from showing in the "who's online" list. We have such a massive board, and of course a large number of trolls/spammers - some with some undesirable usernames - who we really do not want to appear on the "who's online" list for all to see. Surely when they are banned, their "online status" should be invisible to all but the moderators and admins?

Check in the Usergroup permissions section for the Banned Usergroup. If I remember correctly there is an option to display (or not display) a usergroup in the who's online page.

I don't think there is!
According to vbulletin.com this would be a template modification, which they do not support. Others have echoe'd similar concerns about "rude" usernames appearing in the "welcome newest member" and "who's online" lists.. and also banned users logging back in and appearing in the who's online list. Is there is a way to make them invisible or to only appear to admins? There must be some IF ELSE statements to put in the template somewhere that could acheive this.... You can remove these users from appearing on the members list, but NOT on the who's online lists in the current default set-up. --------------- Added [DATE]1220604113[/DATE] at [TIME]1220604113[/TIME] --------------- Is any modification close to this? I'm suprised there aren't more users that want a mod like this. Surely it's a pain when people see banned users or new registrations showing up on the "who's online" list and the "welcome newest member" list - when they have really rude usernames that you want to hide from everybody else. There should be an option to hide people belonging to certain usergroups from appearing on your homepage. Even a banned troll who decides to login will appear in the logged in users list! We should be able to hide it from all the usergroups (apart from the admin).. Does anyone know any helpful hints (i.e what style i need to edit) in order to achieve this?! |

There is an article in the articles forums on how to do remove banned users from the list.
