nginx + users active in past 24 hours

Hello, I just installed NGINX and i had a vBulletin problem where all the users IPS would be the server IP caused by NGINX. There was a fix that fixed it i found on google ::

That fixed it, is that effecient and the correct way to do it ?

Also since that fix, my users active in the past 24 hours mod (by Cyb )

Stopped updating, just always showed 143 members and 1 guest.

How do i go about fixing it
