I have a gaming website and get lots of visitors from many different clans.
So i needed a way for them to Show their clan tags, which will help them challenge each other.

Create a new profile Field (remember the field id number)
Directions:
1. In adminCP go to user profile fields
2. Click on add new profile field
3. add The following
Title - Clan Affiliation
Description -Type in your Clan Tag. Enter up to 5 letter or numbers.
Default Value -leave blank
Max length of allowed user input - set to at least 5 or whatever you want
Field Length- Set to at least 5 or whatever you want
Profile Field Type -Single-Line Text Box
Field Required - yes or no ..up to you..i set mine to no
Field Editable by User - YES
Private Field - NO
Field Searchable on Members List - Yes or No ..up to you
Show on Members List -yes or no ..up to you
Regular Expression - Left mine blank
Which page displays this option - select "edit your details" from the menu
Finish - Click save and remember you fieldID number

Add the following Code in your postbit legacy( I added mine above the join date)
HTML Code:
<if condition="$post['fieldXX']">&nbsp;<div class="smallfont"><b>Clan Tag: $post[fieldXX]</b></if>
Be sure to change the XX to you Field Id number. Then go to your usercp panel and click on edit Details, add in your clan tag, click save. Done.
You can add this code anywhere you want the clan tags to show up.

How to get to your postbit legacy:
Got to your forum's admin panel >Style & Templates>Style manager>pick Your style and click the expand button on the right>highlight postbit templets and click the expand/collapse button> select postbit legacy and click the edit button> ..insert the above code where you want the clan tag to show up at and then click save. Done.

This mod/hack should work on any version of VB.
Sorry if the coding is not clean,i'm still learning the ropes.

Please click installed.
