We have recently purchased a new domain and would like to move our entire vb forum to the new domain. We have a full database back up..........
What kind of work would have to be done for this to be successful? Does every single file have to be edited? |

I think it'd be simple enough to just copy the files over (the whole forum dir) to your new domain then import the backup.
You'll have to edit the config.php with the new forum name, username and password though. |

If your host uses cpanel and the Web Hosting Manager control panel, you can use the WHM to move the entire site from one domain or server to the other.
Once the site is moved, edit the vbulletin config file to reflect the new location, and edit the vbulletin cookie settings to reflect the new domain name. In may 2008, I moved an entire site from one domain name to another, and it was easy. The WHM will take care of most of the work, then its just some minor settings. |
