Of course, party affiliation shouldn't prevent people from discussing the issues. For instance, I am registered as a Democrat but think the abortion issue should be revisited as current laws are far from satisfactory. That is just as an example though. I don't want to derail the topic with that. Other things I don't agree with are issues that contravene the Constitution or limit the rights in the Constitution. That is traditionally seen as a conservative view. Government size should be reduced and third-party jobs increased. We should manufacture at home instead of abroad but have less regulation in some cases to help businesses. etc...

A forum for discussing the insane things that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is doing to the USA.

Just read an article over at /. (slashdot.org) saying one of the DHS databases has credit cards, itineraries, credit card numbers, obviously names, dates, etc.

That's just messed up.

Not the type of reply I would expect from you Wayne. I'am a little lost for words right now.

How do you take repealing the income tax, and doing away with the federal reserve system and compare that to making pedophilia legal?

If it were my forum, I would only add a political party if it did not promote special interest. Such as giving money to banks, making sure the federal reserve keeps control of our money and pedophilia. That would exclude the republican and democrat parties and any other party that wanted to pass laws that would harm others.

Than you wouldn't promote political freedom. That was my point. You have limits and would limit the discussions the end user can have. True political freedom would allow all topics to be discussed, good or bad. By banning Republicans and Democrats from political discussions, you are just as guilty of the bias that you accuse the media of.

The point is that owner's own morals and standards will impede on what they allow to be discuss in just about any forum. Even forums like offtopic that state they don't have posting rules ban people when they violate something. Only on an unregulated site like 4chan would you see any kind of "freedom" in posting.

Overall, if you're going to build a niche site, than you should pick a topic that you are passionate about and discuss that topic. Make sure that people know what your mission statement and goals are from the beginning. If you want to talk about abolishing income taxes and the federal reserve than you should be open to hearing both sides of the argument from anyone willing to participate. Discuss topics, not afilliations. Otherwise nothing would be accomplished on a niche site.

Political parties that promote special interest are not really political parties - they are special interest groups. Its like a wolf in sheeps clothing. It looks like a sheep, but its really a wolf. A rose by any other name is still a rose.

I would create a forum that would be open to all "real" political parties. And try to exclude the ones that "pretend" to be a political organization.

Drives me nuts explaining how to do this that and the other.
Our tutorial section, camtasia stuff, is always busy.

So a tutorial forum would be invaluable.
It could also encompass tut's for site admins on how to do stuff, where to change stuff...

I dont mind doing one, but not sure it would be of interest to others.
