Hiding Adult Smilies
Hey all,
I've searched about hiding smilies but haven't found an answer that relates directly to what we'd like to try and achieve. We have "adult" smilies on our forum. Some of our members would like to NOT see them as they are allowed to be used in siggy's, but their use in posts is restricted to 1 forum. Is there anyway to: 1. Adapt one of our "child of" skins (which currently removes all user titles from view) to also block specific smilies OR 2. Add a "View Adult Smilies" YES or NO button in the User CP that allows each user to block a certain set of smilies from view board-wide? Thank you in advance for any replies! |

You could always create a duplicate style (child safe) and have the members who are easily offended view this style with the adult smilies having replacement variables attached to them.
For example: adultman.gif would have a replacement of biggrin.gif so any emoticons used from the adult category would be replaced by emoticons in the general (childsafe category). I know this is a make do solution until something more permanent comes along. The replacement variable manager can be found at the bottom of the main style css. |
