My forum was conceived to provide a place for the residents of my town to express their views. opinions, and suggestions regarding our town. That being said I added other subject so non residents can enjoy the site as well.

bad choice of colors
2 things that really stand out... - the red-orange links are hard to read on light colored backgrounds (little contrast) - the brown alternating color is too dark - black text on brown background hard to read |

What colors do you suggest?
I chose those colors (orange, brown) I know yuck, because they're the towns colors. I'm thinking of going with orange and black. Specifically a skin I found here at vb.org. Thanks! |

Ok I can see this is going to be a nice little personal forum with a great motive - but i couldn't agree with Princeton any more.
The cleanest looking thing on your website is probably your ads When you're dealing with the main alternating colors (alt1,alt2) most of the time it's best to keep them rather close for easy transitioning, but regardless of which route you go - you need to edit the rest of the css accordingly. For example, that text on the orange should not be black nor the links orange, I can't read the text and the links hurt my eyes. |
