Private forums - help needed
I have a forum category for paying subscribers only - private to unregistered and non paying members. How do I set it up so that the name of the forums within the category are visible but none of the threads or thread titles? Even better, is it possible to allow a single sticky to be visible that explains what the forum is and teases users into paying the subscription?
At the moment, all that is visible in the Category which doesn't look well. One other that I can't seem to get any information on anywhere... how do I set it up so that users have the option to login invisibly if they wish. This would be a tick box up beside username and password. I've seen it only plenty of other boards but can't find the setting or the mod to make this happen. Any help of the above would be great, Thanks! |

For question 1:
It's forum permissions. You want them to view the forum content but not thread content? Admin CP -> Forum Permissions -> Can View Forum -> Yes Admin CP -> Forum Permissions -> Can View Thread Content -> No Admin CP -> Forum Permissions -> Can View Others' Threads -> No |

Thanks James, that works BUT users now get this message:
"There have been no posts in the last 365 days in this forum. Try using the controls below to search for any older posts that may exist. " Any idea how I could change that text? That would sort my problem out completely! |

All of vBulletins text is used as phrases. Search for that text in phrases manager and you are able to change it.
