Hi there, first time I have actually posted over here, so please go gentle
![]() I have a question regarding the editing of an RSS feed. The feed is from a blog that we link to the forums via RSS to ensure our usual community are kept up to date with the latest blog posts. This has been set up using vBulletin's default RSS feed capability. At the minute, every thread that is auto-posted comes from the one user account. That's fine. What I have been asked to do is see if there is any way you can include the poster name in the feed layout, and if I can include the full article in the post? Our feed layout is seen here: ![]() What should I be including in this to include; 1) the poster's username that could be included in the title? 2) enable me to have the full text of the blog in the post? Upon checking with the "?" help option, there seems to be no option to include the actual poster in the thread's title. It seems to be the one thing that's missing, presumably because it isn't always possible or something. The blog is vBulletin and built into the forum/vb database. I just wanted to quickly check if this was possible? Are there products that could assist in this? Thanks in advance for any replies, it's much appreciated! Cheers, Gaz |

Why would you need to include a user's name in the title?

It's a gaming website. We have a large team of developers who blog what they are working on, so the community keep up to speed with progress. At the minute, the blogs are being posted by a generic account created for this purpose, but it would be nice to have the username of the blog poster in the thread title created from the feed.

I don't have the blog, so I can't look at the code to see how they change the external.php page for posting the blogs, but you need to look at the code to see what variables are available. You may want to ask this over in the blog forums on vb.com
