My guess is IPB 3.0 is ahead of the vb 4.0, time will tell if I'm correct... but from what I can tell IPB has there act together lately. Take a look at there support forums and you will see many things that you don't see here, the main one being communication and features that we have been asking for over the last few years.

I'm waiting to see in the next month what happens, at that time we should have a better idea if VB4.0 is going to happen and if it's going to be worth being bent over for.
