This is very rare coming from my mouth (or I guess in this case, my hands), but this is an excellent use of vBadvanced. This is what I want to see when someone has it installed, and not your typical "latest news" with the same old boring side blocks, and no real nice navigation. You've done well with that.
The forums? A lot of it is default, and I think some things need to be adjusted and fixed, such as:

Why would a mod be needed? You should just be able to do it with CSS. Float the image (left or right), and give it a margin so that the text isn't right up against it.
