I have an annoying issue
Ok, here it goes.
Recently our host switched us to a brand new server. No changes as we were on a Dedicated Server and we went to a new Dedicated Server. We run two vBulletin Sites off of that server (www.unitedstangs.com & www.stangsgonewild.com) with both sites having the same ip address. The issue is this. Stangs Gone Wild will not load up at times. We have no idea why. I have gone through the GoDaddy side of things and everything is correct as far as the IP Addresses and Name Server (NS1.xxx.com) information. Can someone tell me if this is a Host Issue or a vBulletin Issue ??? Also, apparently we got listed as a Spam Email thing because we sent out a lot of emails to our users letting them know that the site (SGW) was down. We sent if from the other site, United Stangs. Yahoo flagged us and have now blacklisted our server, which prevents any new users from being sent the conformation email. I emailed Yahoo and gave them what information I could that they asked for and basically they have now told me "tough $h!t, try again in 6 months". WTF do I do now ??? My new users can never get in because Yahoo is blocking us .... Any suggestions on how to handle this ??? I also run another site (www.octanezone.com), which is on an entirely different server and location. We have no idea what happened but the site just went down. Our host says it is not there fault. They said that there is another site on that server (shared) and it is up. The Main Page is up (HTML Page) but when you go to the forums page, we get this error .... Code:
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\octanezone\forums\includes\class_core.php on line 311 Thanks for the input and any help that you guys can offer ... Bulldog Stang |

1. Sometimes not loading is not much info to go by, but first guess would be that the webserver is to blame for it. Check if the webserver was restarted, no performance issues, check the server log files, etc..
2. Nothing we can do to force Yahoo to accept emails from your domain. All you can do is block registrations for Yahoo and make a note of this on the registration page. 3. This looks like your host has recompiled PHP and forgot to include MySQL support. |

2. Or just not require new users to verify their email.

That's what I did for now ...

1. I have restarted the Server myself. I have also ran the database repair as well and no errors were found. I am at wits end with this and the site owner wants to freakin move to another host because of this. I keep telling him that I don't think it is entirely the Host Fault. 2. I did away with the verify email setting. 3. Thanks for that. I will contact the other host and see if that is what they did. |
