Avatar creating help please

Hello I have hundreds of gifs and jpegs that I would like to make 100 x 100 avatars for my forum. I have photoshop, yet my pictures get all distorted. Is there any way to compress pictures in a way to keep the details and make them avatars?

If I leave an image large, like 700 px x 700 px will vbulletin scale it down?

With images scaled down to this size you'll always get some kind of distortion unless you hold the original source files to scale the images down properly.

When you re-size the image in photoshop keep your finger on the shift button so your scaling down width/height at the same dimensions rate. At anycase, if you still have this persisting issue post the image your re-sizing and I'll have a look for you.
