Hi everyone,
I own a games website, and would like to start adding a forum for every game out for the specific console. I've tried doing this before, but after adding several hundred games, the forum manager page in admincp would hang/crash before displaying the forums list, which was a pain!! Is there a mod out there which allows me to collaps specific categories from being displayed (so they don't load when the admincp forum manager is loaded) until I expand them. Also, is there a way I can add multiple forums at once? adding one forum at a time becomes tedious after the first hundred or so... Thanks! |

In all honesty I would highly recommend NOT doing this. The main reason is that you're spreading very little content throughout many, many forums. It will make your forum look completely dead. Have a discussion board for each console, and if you must, have sub-forums for each genre. This is a much better solution than creating a forum for each game.
Additionally, if you want more "game-specific" stuff, look into adding prefixes. This will allow users to create a thread with a specific game in front of it. |

Thanks for your suggestion, but after more consideration, I'm still on the idea of adding a forum for each game...
1st post still applies, if anyone can point me in the right direction, or help with modding, please reply. Kind Regards, |

me too. Can someone script this in XML or provide a MySQL way of doing this?

1.000+ forums seems to lead to problems with vbulletin.
