Forum Reinstall

I recently have taken over administrating a forum from another user, and I want to reinstall the forums because alot of the mods / hacks are out of date.

I want to bring it up to version 3.8.3. Is it possible to import only critical data from the SQL backups so that the hacks and such are left off, and all I am left with is User Login, Private Messages, Groups and Group permissions?

Not that i know of but what you can do is do an upgrade over what you have then unistall or you can do computer reinstall and then just put back the whole database. Then add mods back . That is how i have always done it.

If there is another way i would like to know but i believe that is the only two ways.

Well I am doing this because I am having trouble installing additional mods, specificlly the PayPal donation mod.

I dont know of any other way to do it.

Also mmoore5553, could you go into details lil more on what you mean by computer reinstall?

I am sorry ..i meant complete reinstall. Then import your database back. What is wrong with the mod or what issues are you having ? Is your forum skin modified alot ? There are several things to keep in mind when doing a full reinstall.

When I reinstalled, and imported the DB back in, I still had issues with the mod. It looks as if, alot of the functions regard the "misc.php" is not working. Example the Donate mod, and the Smiles "more function" In a new post or reply window. They are blank windows.

Not sure what else to do at this point in time.
